Community Greening in Tacoma
Thank you to all who attended our Earth Day webinar to launch our GiveBIG campaign for 2024. We are excited to share that we will be raising funds to support the Tacoma Tree Foundation (TTF) with an economic analysis. All funds raised during this year’s GiveBIG will be used to cover the staff time for Earth Economics to produce a benefit-cost analysis of TTF’s tree planting in and around Tacoma. In order to produce a robust analysis, our goal is to raise $20,000. If we can exceed this goal, we will add additional areas of analysis, including beneficiary mapping to gain a better understanding of who benefits from TTF’s community greening and a Tree Value Profile, to illustrate the value of specific types of urban trees, such as a park tree, school tree, or street tree.
