The goods and services provided by natural ecosystems are similar to the goods and services provided by producers in a traditional market, in that their value can be measured in dollar terms. The process of valuing the goods and services provided by an ecosystem is called ecosystem services valuation (ESV).

Agriculture Capital 2019 Impact Report
Regenerative Food The Value of Scale

Green Roof | Hunts Point, NY

Earth Economics had the honor & opportunity to contribute to Agriculture Capital’s 2019 Impact Report: Regenerative Food The Value of Scale in the section, Regenerative Agriculture Builds Thriving Soil, found on pages 5-6. Our analysis focused on the limited scope evaluation of ecosystem service value of AC practices on select blueberry farms. The graphic, below, displays the ecosystem services present and valued in this analysis, by practice type. It was found that by implementing regenerative management tactics focused on soil improvement, the proposed blueberry farms would generate over $3 million in ecosystem service value over the next 10 years.
