Our ED will talk about our work highlighting the social, ecological, and economic benefits of Indigenous-led initiatives such as restoring salmon habitat, protecting wild rice ecosystems, and conserving old-growth forests.
Earth Economics is dedicated to advancing Indigenous-led nature-based solutions. Using ecological economics, we highlight the social, ecological, and economic—both market and non-market—benefits of Indigenous-led initiatives such as restoring salmon habitat, protecting wild rice ecosystems, and conserving old-growth forests. Guided by Indigenous-centered frameworks, our analyses communicate value in culturally grounded ways to funders, leaders, and the broader public. This talk will showcase examples of how our approach expands opportunities for Indigenous-led economic development and nature-based solutions.
